Liberty caps (Psilocybe semilanceata) are a type of mushroom that produce psychoactive compounds like psilocybin, psilocin, and baeocystin. They are characterized by a distinctive conical to bell-shaped cap, typically yellow to brown and covered with radial grooves when moist, which fade to a lighter color as they mature. Their stipes (stalks) are slender, long, and usually the same color as or slightly lighter than the cap.
